Men’s Health Forum Scotland organise Advisory Group seminars throughout the year. The events are free and open to everyone of the MHFS mailing list or anyone who is working in men’s health. Each event will have a different theme.

Mental Health: Five years after the Mental Health Act
A one day conference, Tuesday 2nd September 2008, Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh
The conference will not only provide a forum to contribute to the Scottish Government's review of the Act, but will also discuss and assess how Scotland's mental health community has responded to this pioneering law.

Understanding depression and its treatment
A One Day Conference

Around 1 in 5 of the population in Scotland will experience depression at some point of their lives and depression is a major cause of morbidity with significant mortality. This conference has been designed to suit a multidisciplinary audience and will increase your understanding and knowledge on depression, treatment and current research. It will also provide you with an excellent opportunity to network with other professionals and to hear about good practice.

Health of older people

The University of Glasgow has organised this interesting and informative educational conference which aims to update your knowledge on key aspects of the health of older people including their physical and mental well being. As the older population in the UK increases there is a great need to improve the services that are available. This conference will most importantly provide information which can be applied in practice and also provide an excellent meeting place for networking opportunities and for obtaining information resources.
