Men's Health Forum Scotland is a charity registered in Scotland with the aim of improving men’s health. We are currently recruiting a new National Director with responsibility for delivering all aspects of our work. This is a challenging post in an area of work that is complex and diverse; it presents opportunities for the successful applicant to play an instrumental role in improving the health of men in Scotland.
The postholder will be required to effectively oversee and manage the diverse budgets, projects and work strands of the organisation. These include the MHFS 10k for Men, the Self Management for Men Project and the core functions of support for men’s health improvement. They will also be responsible for the leadership of a staff team reflecting the diversity of our working agenda.
In addition to executive and operational functions it will be vital that input is made at a national and regional strategic planning level on the many issues affecting men’s health.
The successful applicant will show evidence of outstanding communication, influencing and leadership skills. They will demonstrate a proven ability to work in partnership with agencies from all sectors at a senior level. Capable of maintaining a complex range of outputs, imagination and creativity will be essential in securing the ongoing development of the organisation; expertise in fundraising and income generation is also essential. An understanding of gender and masculinity as they relate to health will be a distinct advantage for candidates.
